We promote the pediatric resources available for health professionals and families in endocrinology and diabetes.
The goal of this page is to increase awareness about the many existing resources in pediatric endocrinology and diabetes, to prevent redundancy of initiatives and to promote collaboration between health professionals. Ultimately the goal is to improve clinical care for children and adolescents with endocrine conditions and diabetes. To access the current available resources, please click here.

The European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE, Dr. Sten Drop) has developed a e-learning portal.
The e-learning web portal gives you entrance to an interactive learning environment for up to date pediatric endocrinology. This unique web portal provides medical students, residents, fellow, specialists, consultants and teachers around the world, access to an online network to meet each other, gain, share, contribute and develop knowledge in an accessible and flexible way.
GPED members are requested to register to the ESPE e-learning portal using a unique registration code that provides access to exclusive content to the e-learning portal. To receive your registration code, please log in and follow the instructions on the members home page.
WHO Growth Charts
GPED members have free access to French and English versions of WHO Growth Charts which are based on World Health Organization (WHO) Child Growth Standards (2006) and WHO Reference (2007) and were prepared by five Canadian health professional groups including the Canadian Pediatric Endocrine Group (CPEG). The weight-for-age 10 to 19 years section was developed by CPEG based on data from the US National Center for Health Statistics.
The growth charts (as well as training materials and resources including BMI calculator and tables) are available at www.whogrowthcharts.ca.

Teleconsultations — Collegium Telemedicus
Need help with a challenging case? Consult a pediatric endocrinologist
GPED now offers the opportunity to discuss clinical cases on line! This is available to all pediatric endocrinologists living in low income settings, and to their pediatrician colleagues who do not have access to pediatric endocrine consultation locally.
The program consists of a secure website (requiring a username and a password) that allows the referring physician to provide the relevant clinical information and to upload pictures. It is simple and exists in English, French and Spanish.
The clinical question is then forwarded to an expert pediatric endocrinologist who will initiate a discussion around the submission in the appropriate language. Dr Von Oettingen (Montreal, Canada) will lead this initiative for GPED.
The program is called Collegium Telemedicus and was originally developed for use by "Médecins sans Frontières" to assist health professionals who wish to start and operate telemedicine networks to deliver health care in remote or low-resource settings. GPED was granted permission to use this program for its members.

Dr. Raul Calzada has generously donated his time to translate a guide for parents of children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) to Spanish. The book is written for a lay audience and provides comprehensive, understandable and comforting information. It is a great resource not only for Spanish speaking families in South and Central America, but also for health professionals caring for a CAH child.

For 13 years, the 'Yearbook of Pediatric Endocrinology' has been keeping busy clinicians and scientists, pediatric endocrinologists, as well as pediatricians and endocrinologists informed on new advances in their field. It is edited by Drs K Ong (Cambridge) and Z Hochberg (Haifa).
A new section on "Global Health for the Paediatric Endocrinologist" is included in the 2016 edition of the yearbook. Publication of the Yearbook is made possible thanks to an unrestricted grant from Pfizer Endocrine Care.
